Darren Soto wins U.S. House District 9 Democratic primary race

Darren Soto won the Democratic nomination for U.S. House District 9.

The District 9 race was up for grabs since Alan Grayson decided not to run for re-election and run in the Florida Democratic Senate race.

A notable name on the ballot  was Grayson’s wife, Dena Grayson, who ran to take over his former district.

Soto, who served in the Florida Legislature for eight years, takes credit for bringing high-tech jobs to Central Florida.

With 90 percent of the vote in, Soto had 13,500 votes, about 3,000 more than Grayson and Susannah Randolph.
