Polk County deputies make arrests during training exercise

Javon Hines, Simmie Dinkins face more than 2 dozen charges

POLK CITY, Fla. – Deputies on a training exercise in Polk County made a couple of real-life arrests.

Polk County sheriff's deputies were training on surveillance techniques at Van Fleet Trail in Polk City when they spotted suspicious activity.

Deputies say Javon Hines and Simmie Dinkins were casing parked cars near the trail and a screwdriver commonly used to smash car windows was found in the back seat of their car.

Hines and Dinkins were arrested and face more than two dozen charges for several outstanding warrants in Orange County.
