TALLAHASEE, Fla. - The Senate Transportation chairman will reportedly move forward with banning red light cameras in Florida.
The new report from Legislature's Office of Program Policy Analysis and Governmental Accountability showed crashes have increased at the intersections with the red-light cameras.
According to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Sen. Jeff Brandes, R-St. Petersburg requested the report, which found rear-end crashes increasing by 35 percent during the study period.
The report also found that crashes most commonly associated with red-light running increase by 22 percent at intersections.
