The new report from Legislature's Office of Program Policy Analysis and Governmental Accountability showed crashes have increased at the intersections with the red-light cameras.
According to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Sen. Jeff Brandes, R-St. Petersburg requested the report, which found rear-end crashes increasing by 35 percent during the study period.
The report also found that crashes most commonly associated with red-light running increase by 22 percent at intersections.
