The Lifetime movie based on the case against Casey Anthony debuts Saturday night and Local 6 got a sneak peek at the movie days ahead.
The movie is based on Jeff Ashton's book, "Imperfect Justice" with Rob Lowe playing Ashton. Producers say it will take viewers behind the scenes of both the investigation into Caylee Marie Anthony's death and Casey Anthony's trial, including a focus on the forensic evidence that has gained a lot of attention.
"Our case is rock solid, forensics say she's guilty, common sense says she's guilty, and the jury is going to say she's guilty and do you know why? Because she is guilty," Ashton says in the movie.
The movie also touches on the computer searches done by Anthony on the family home computer, which Local 6 discovered were largely overlooked in an investigation weeks ago.
"Chloroform, knock out gas in the carpet, yeah and not found in aisle 5 of the store," Ashton says in the movie. "I've already asked the sheriff's department to run a key word search on the Anthony's computer to see if she bought it online."
A Local 6 investigation uncovered evidence indicating it was most likely Casey doing the search. And, in a stunning lapse, prosecutors -- relying on woefully incomplete information from the Orange County Sheriff's Office -- never even saw the potentially damning computer browser evidence, until Local 6 revealed it to them last week.
Casey Anthony will be portrayed in the movie, but plays a small part, as the movie focuses on legal team.
