First Christmas after Pulse shooting community mourns 'our angels'

ORLANDO, Fla. – People came out in a show of support on Christmas to remind the Pulse shooting victims they have not been forgotten.

Visitors to the makeshift memorial told News 6 they did not want to spend the holiday without honoring the victims.

It has been more than six months since the deadly shooting that killed 49 and injured more than 50 people.

Neema Bahrami was working at Pulse on the night of the June 12 shooting as the entertainment manager.

He said he often comes back to the club to grieve.

"This will be the first Christmas that we're mourning our angels,” Bahrami said. “I came out today to light candles and lay flowers and show them that we still love them and will never stop loving them."

Bahrami lost his best friend in the shooting.

Weeks before Christmas, several trees appeared in front of the club and visitors have been decorated them ahead of the holiday.

“It's important for us to remember the good times and to never forget their names,” Bahrami said.
