Report: JetBlue to build hotel at Orlando International Airport

Airline to build $25M housing complex at OIA for training employees

ORLANDO, Fla. – JetBlue airlines will reportedly be building a hotel at Orlando International Airport for employees.

The airline says it will build a new $25 million housing complex at OIA. JetBlue had previously held a groundbreaking for the project in 2006, but high fuel prices and a downturn in the economy caused plans to be grounded.

The Orlando Sentinel reports the 196-room hotel is expected to open in 2015 and will have a full kitchen, sports facilities and a meeting room.

JetBlue will hire 50 people for a reservations center at the JetBlue university, which is located at the airport, the Sentinel reports. The jobs would pay between $9 and $14 an hour.
