Report: Man suffers shark bite near Ponce Inlet jetty

Victim not seriously injured, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. - A 24-year-old man was bitten by a shark Thursday morning near the jetty in Ponce Inlet, Beach Patrol officials said.

The victim, a Holmes Beach resident, was bitten at 10:15 a.m., Beach Patrol Capt. Tammy Marris told The Daytona Beach News-Journal.

The bite was minor and the man was not transported to the hospital, Marris said.
