Robber grabs cash from register drawer at Altamonte Springs Home Depot, cops say

Robber implied he had gun, grabbed $100 in cash, police say

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the person who robbed a Home Depot in Altamonte Springs.

Police responded at 3 p.m. Wednesday to the store at 882 W. State Road 436 in regards to an armed robbery.

Police said officers met with a clerk who advised that a male robber approached the checkout counter in the garden center.

The robber implied he had a gun and told the clerk to open the register, police said. The robber then reached into the cash register and grabbed $100 in cash from the drawer.

Police said the robber was seen wearing a unique white sweatshirt with the letters "MIT" across the chest. He also had long brown hair in a ponytail.

The robber was seen driving a silver SUV that is possibly a Ford Explorer, police said.
