Shortly after, authorities found Rodriguez driving a vehicle that matched the description witnesses provided and conducted a traffic stop, during which they found a handgun, deputies said.

Deputies said they were told that the shooting was in retaliation for a shooting that had previously taken place in Cocoa.

Rodriguez was arrested and charged with attempted murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle, deputies said. He is being held in the Brevard County Jail without bail.

Deputies said the male victim was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No other details about his condition were immediately available.
