March against police brutality underway in Sanford

SANFORD, Fla. – In the wake of the attack in Dallas, protests and marches have spread nationwide, with one underway on Monday in Sanford.

The march, which isn't one of the official Black Lives Matter protests, was held at Fort Mellon Park in Sanford as attendees walked east on 13th Street toward the Sanford Police Department.

"Cops got to be held accountable for their actions, and that's the last thing we need in this United States today is a scared cop, with hatred in his heart, and a pistol," said Starregina Lawrence, the protest organizer.

The march started with demonstrators warning each other of what to do in a traffic stop, to immediately put  their hands up or to keep them on the steering wheel.
