Sanford police search for missing mom

18-year-old last spotted in July, police say

SANFORD, Fla. – Sanford police are searching for an 18-year-old girl who police say was last spotted several months ago.

Family members tell police Kya Jacobs was last seen in July in Sanford leaving the area with a book bag of personal belongings, according to a release. Police said Jacobs' family hasn't heard from her in months and although she has a history of drug use, she hasn't been missing for such an extended period of time.

Police said Jacobs also has an infant that she hasn't attempted to contact since July. Jacobs left her vehicle in Geneva to be repaired and has yet to come and retrieve it, according to the release. Jacobs's identification was located at a gas station in their lost and found where it had been since late August/early September. Records show that she has yet to obtain a duplicate identification.
