SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -

New Tribes missionary, Warren Scott Kennell, 45, is in the Seminole County Jail with no bond after being arrested at Orlando International Airport on Friday.

Federal investigators said Kennell admitted to molesting four girls who were all approximately 12 years old while ministering in Brazil. Kennell also allegedly admitted to taking pornographic pictures of the children.

New Tribes Mission, which is based in Sanford, FL said Kennell has ministered in Brazil since the 1990s, but it's still unknown if the victims are connected to the organization.

Federal investigators said they received a tip that Kennell had been posting numerous images of child porn on the Internet.

For unknown reasons, Kennell flew from South America to OIA on May 31. A Custom's agent, who had been tipped off to Kennell's arrival, searched Kennell's luggage and found three thumb drives and an external hard drive.

According to a federal arrest affidavit Kennell denied ever molesting children or making child porn, but detectives quickly discovered disturbing images on the hard drive. One of the pictures allegedly showed Kennell performing oral sex on a girl as young as 12. Another picture showed a naked young girl.

Detectives said that's when Kennell admitted to molesting four girls in Brazil and taking pictures.

Pam McCurdy, a spokeswoman for New Tribes Mission, issued a statement to fellow members on Tuesday saying:

"We don’t have all of the facts yet, but wanted to update you on a situation. A member from Illinois, who served in Brazil, was arrested Friday. As you can imagine, we are heartsick at the thought that children have been victimized. While we are trying to confirm whether there is a connection between the personal actions of the accused and our organization, we have put the accused on immediate leave. We intend to cooperate fully with authorities and are grateful to them for reaching beyond U.S. borders to identify and stop abusers. It has been frustrating in years past that this was not always possible. The protection of children is of vital importance to us. Please pray.

According to an on-line bio, Kennell's parents are also New Tribes missionaries who spent over four decades working in Brazil.

New Tribes Mission has faced widespread allegations of sex abuse committed by missionaries worldwide.

Dozens of people have also accused the organization of failing to respond to complaints of sex abuse.

On it's website, the organization says it has launched a task force to look into the allegations, which date back to the 1980s.
