SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. -

A man accused of kidnapping a woman using a firearm Sunday in Satellite Beach’s Montecito subdivision had his bond set at $13,000 Monday morning during a court hearing at the Brevard County Jail Complex, Local 6 News partner reported.

Wearing a blue jumpsuit, handcuffed and holding a sheet of paper, Joshua Chris Chambers shook his head while a judge set his bond on charges of false imprisonment, battery dating violence, tampering with a witness and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Satellite Beach police said Chambers, 34, abducted a woman in the 300 block of Point Lobos Drive at about 4:40 a.m. Sunday. He was arrested two hours later by West Melbourne police after Satellite Beach officers issued a countywide alert for his vehicle.

This morning, Chambers was forbidden from contacting the woman or the man who called 911, forbidden from possessing firearms or ammunition, and ordered to wear GPS monitoring equipment.

“Could I speak for myself?” Chambers asked the judge.

“I would advise you: Don’t talk about the facts of the case, sir,” a public defender replied.

Chambers told the judge he does not own a firearm.

He faces additional charges from an earlier arrest last week.

On Thursday, Palm Bay police charged Chambers with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a controlled substance, clerk of courts records show.
