Seminole County teacher's assistant/football coach arrested on sex charges

OVIEDO, Fla. – An investigation into alleged sexual text messages sent to Seminole County high school students led to the arrest of a teacher's aide, who was also a football coach, on sex assault charges.

William Nordin, who turned 26 on Friday, worked at Hagerty High School in Oviedo, where he supervised virtual courses, oversaw in-school suspensions and coached football.  His contract with the school was reportedly not renewed.

Seminole County sheriff's officials said the alleged sexual assault victim is a 17-year-old girl, who told detectives that the inappropriate sexual contact occurred over the past two months at Nordin's apartment in Oviedo.

Investigators are looking into the possibility of additional victims and are asking anyone with information to call the Seminole County Sheriff's Office at 407-665-6650.

Officials with the Seminole County Jail said Nordin, of Oviedo, was released after posting bond, which had been set at $10,100.
