COCOA BEACH, Fla. - A water slide in Cocoa Beach ceased operation last week after a patron was injured Florida Today reported Wednesday.
City Manager Bob Majka, suspended the special events permit for Surf Slide LLC while the May 26 injury at Fischer Park is investigated.
"We just want it to be safe for our citizens," said Melissa Byron, economic development director. "We want to make sure that he is operating correctly."
Details about the accident and the nature of the injury are unknown.
Florida Today reports that while the city has received statements from a witness and the medical first-responders, they are waiting on a statement from the vendor to conclude the investigation.
