Slow service foils robbery at Wendy's restaurant in Longwood

Police say man donned blue bandana inside restroom

LONGWOOD, Fla. – Longwood police are searching for a man who tried to rob a Wendy's but ran off because employees were taking too long.

The attempted robbery happened around 11:30 p.m. Sunday at the Wendy's at 815 West State Road 434.

According to Longwood police, a man entered the restaurant and went into the bathroom.  When he exited, he had a blue bandana over his face and told the workers, "Give me what you got."

The employees were taking too long, so the man demanded a wallet from a customer, police said.  The customer refused, however, and the man ran to a nearby parking lot and got into a waiting car, police said.

The man was described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and 150 pounds.  He was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt.  Police also said the man appeared to be nervous.

No money was taken, and no one was injured.
