Snake emerges from car's hood while Florida man driving

Tim Mokwa believes snake hitched ride from Weeki Wachee

DUNEDIN, Fla. - A Florida man got an unexpected surprise after a 6-foot-long snake popped out of the hood of his car while he was driving along a busy highway.

Tim Mokwa said he was heading home on U.S. Highway 19 in Dunedin when the snake appeared right in front of his windshield.

Mokwa immediately pulled into a Walmart parking lot and recorded video on his phone of the long black snake slithering around on his hood.

The Clearwater man said he's unsure what type of snake it was, but he said he had visited Weeki Wachee State Park over the weekend, and that's when he believes the serpent climbed aboard.

Mokwa said he doesn't know if the snake fell off his car or went back under the hood.
