Source: David Siegel purchases Orlando Predators

Team to play at Amway Center next season, source says

ORLANDO, Fla. – Time-share mogul David Siegel has purchased the Orlando Predators, according to a Local 6 source, who said the Arena Football League team will play next season at the Amway Center.

Details of the sale were not immediately known, and Siegel, 79, who owns Westgate Resorts, has not returned a call seeking comment.

Last year, the Predators were bought by Pearsall Holdings LP from Brett Bouchy.

The Predators are 8-7 on the season following a loss Wednesday night to the Philadelphia Soul.  The Preds went 7-11 last year.

The team currently plays at the CFE Arena at the University of Central Florida and is averaging just over 5,000 fans per game, which is last in the league.

Siegel is constructing the largest private house in the United States, a 90,000-square-foot home near Orlando, dubbed the Versailles House, which is patterned after the original Palace of Versailles in France.
