The Orlando Magic could lose a member of their coaching staff next season.
Local 6 Sports Director David Pingalore has learned that Magic Assistant Coach Patrick Ewing has been contacted by the Charlotte Bobcats for their head coaching job.
Charlotte finished the season with 7-59 record. The Bobcats announced last month that Paul Silas wouldn't return next season as head coach and that a search for a new head coach began immediately.
Ewing still has to be granted permission by the Orlando Magic to be interviewed. Pingalore has learned that Charlotte still has not asked the Magic for that permission. Ewing and Charlotte owner Michael Jordan are very close friends.
