CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – The scheduled docking of SpaceX's Dragon capsule to the International Space Station was aborted early Wednesday because of a technical issue.
NASA's mission control made the announcement around 3:30 a.m., saying the problem might be related to a GPS issue with the capsule.
Officials said the Dragon capsule, carrying supplies, was about 7/10ths of a mile below the space station when it aborted the docking.
NASA said neither the station nor its six-person crew was in any danger.
Officials said the Dragon will try to dock with the space station on Thursday.
Hours earlier, Russia successfully launched a cargo ship from Kazakhstan, its first since a failed launch in December. The Russian supplies should arrive Friday.
SpaceX launched the Dragon Sunday on a Falcon 9 rocket from NASA's historic moon pad at Cape Canaveral.
Dragon is in good health and will make another rendezvous attempt with the @Space_Station Thursday morning.
