KSC Visitor Complex bus tours reopen

117 workers finally return to work after government reopens

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – The Kennedy Space Center bus tour reopened for business Friday for the first time in more than two weeks.

There were 117 workers at the KSC Visitor Complex who returned to work after being furloughed due to the government shutdown.

Most of the workers happened to be bus drivers for the tours.  Even though the KSC Visitor Center is privately operated, NASA is a government property, so the buses were halted due to the shutdown.

Other employees, including security officers and concession stand workers, also returned to the complex after they were also furloughed.

The workers will not be getting paid back for the days they were furloughed since they are not government employees.

The KSC Visitor Complex is back to its normal operating hours.
