International Space Station gains 3 crew members

NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough and two cosmonauts join ISS crew

A Russian Soyuz spacecraft carrying American astronaut Shane Kimbrough and two cosmonauts docked with the International Space Station early Friday morning.

The rocket lifted off from Baikonur, Kazakhstan on Wednesday after the launch was delayed because of a damaged cable.

The hitch open at 8:02 a.m. allowing Kimbrough and Russian cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Andrey Borisenko to board the space station.

The trio join Commander Anatoly Ivanishin of Roscosmos and flight engineers NASA astronaut Kate Rubins and Takuya Onishi of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency,

Their mission will last four months.
