SpaceX Dragon cargo ship to return to Earth

Capsule leaves International Space Station

ORLANDO, Fla. – For the first time in more than a year, a SpaceX Dragon capsule will return to Earth.

The Dragon left the International Space Station at 9:21 a.m. Wednesday.

The capsule is packed with 37,000 pounds of cargo, spacewalk gear and biological samples. 

The Dragon capsule arrived at the space station April 10. 

The capsule is expected to parachute to a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean.
