Starbucks tests soft drinks in two cities

Drinks come in three flavors

SEATTLE – Starbucks is hoping fans of its "cup of joe" will enjoy the new glasses of soda it is creating and testing in two cities.

The coffee giant is allowing customers in Atlanta and Austin to try three flavors of its handcrafted soft drinks:

  • Lemon Ale
  • Spiced Root Beer
  • Ginger Ale

According to USA Today, the bubbly brews are created in a special carbonation machine. A "tall" soft drink costs $2.45 and a "venti" drink costs $3.45.

Tests of the soda flavors began in April in the company's home city of Seattle.

Starbucks management has not said if or when the soft drinks will be rolled out to all stores.
