An elementary school student has been suspended after bringing a paring knife to school.
Orange County Schools officials told Local 6 the third-grade boy had the knife at Pine Hills Elementary School and was uttering threats, though no word on exactly what those threats were.
They said a parent witnessed the child doing this and alerted school staff.
Principal DeCheryl Britton sent the following recorded message to all Pine Hills Elementary families:
"Please be advised that today we had law enforcement at school to investigate an incident involving a student who brought a knife to school. No one was injured. I repeat no one was injured. The incident has been handled at a school level."
School officials said the boy has been suspended for ten days and faces possible expulsion.
