Students test drones at Seminole State College summer program

HEATHROW, Fla. – More than 100 Seminole County high school students are testing their unmanned aerial vehicle, or drone, at Seminole State College on Friday.

According to a release, the project is part of Advanced Technological Education 2014 summer program at Seminole State College's Heathrow campus.

During the competition, students worked as teams to operate the drones through obstacles, along with participating in a pizza-delivery challenge.

The program at SSC is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation. Students who participate receive college credit, officials said.
