Sumter County deputies search for man in upskirt Walmart photos

Man fled from deputies after ditching his car at motel

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – Sumter County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man they say ran from authorities after being confronted for touching a female customer at Walmart.

The Sumter County Sheriff's Office received complaints of Lance Windisch, 43, photographing and touching a female customer at the Walmart on West County Road 48 on Sept. 12.

In the surveillance video from the store, Windisch appears to be shopping for DVDs alongside another customer. He looks around the store, and then bends down, holds his cellphone under the woman's dress and begins snapping photos, investigators say.

A short time later, investigators say Windisch grabbed the woman before running out of Walmart.

Deputies encountered Windisch in the same Walmart parking lot on Tuesday night. Windisch fled in his vehicle, eventually abandoning it at a Roadway Inn and running away, deputies said.

Deputies also said that the suspect put his vehicle in reverse and rammed the deputy's patrol car during the pursuit.

Deputies were unable to find Windisch and have since issued warrants for aggravated battery, resisting arrest and fleeing/eluding.

Cops say that Windisch has a dangerous criminal history and should not be approached if seen. Records show Windisch has spent 22 years in prison--20 years for burglary to an occupied home and was also charged with grand theft, grand theft auto, and battery on a law enforcement officer.

In Windisch's car, they found his cellphone and are investigating it to see if any other customers had been photographed.
