SunRail hits landscaping trailer in Seminole County

No injuries reported, FDOT says

LONGWOOD, Fla. – A SunRail train collided with a landscaping trailer in Seminole County on Wednesday afternoon.

The northbound train headed to Altamonte Springs struck the back of a utility trailer in Longwood at State Road 434 near Ronald Reagan Boulevard just before 6 p.m., according to police.

Police said the driver of the truck that was hauling the utility trailer tried to go around the crossing arm as the train was coming by and was hanging over the tracks.

No injuries were reported and passengers on the train involved were transferred to another train.

Northbound trains are being rerouted to the southbound tracks to get around the investigation, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
