Surgical mask-wearing gunman sought in Orlando bank robbery

Deputies search for a man who robbed an Orange County credit union.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Deputies in Orange County continue to search for a gunman who robbed a bank while wearing a construction helmet and a surgical mask.

The armed robbery happened Friday around 4 p.m. at the Fairwinds Credit Union at 3133 N. Alafaya Trail in Orlando.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, a man with a handgun walked into the credit union, shoved a customer and demanded cash from a clerk.  He then left the credit union with an undisclosed amount of money.

The robber was described as about 6 feet tall with a medium build and 40 to 49 years old.  He has a "pot belly" and was wearing a blue long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, black gloves, a blue surgical mask, black sunglasses and a white construction helmet with duct tape over the front and back of it.
