Surveillance video could solve string of stolen vehicles, burglaries in Flagler County

4 men, stolen vehicle spotted at Target, deputies say

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – New surveillance from a Target in Daytona Beach could help the Flagler County Sheriff's Office solve several crimes including stolen vehicles and valuables.

Video was released on Wednesday showing four men and a stolen vehicle at the store.

"It's a big break for us in the case," said Jim Troiano, Flagler County Sheriff's Office. "At this time we're calling them persons of interest. We want to be able to identify them and talk to them."

Investigators said the men could be responsible for stealing a black Tahoe along with a Ford Taurus on May 1. Deputies said the men later drove the Tahoe to Target and other stores in Daytona Beach.

"It's very clear that it's this vehicle because of the red lettering that was on it," said Troiano.

Troiano said the video also shows the men leaving the store with items in hand that included diapers and water. He said the men bought the items using credit cards that were left in the vehicles.

Now, investigators believe this crime could be linked to others.

"We're looking at 10 burglaries in the R section and then four stolen vehicles," he said.

The sheriff's office said the vehicles stolen were all unlocked, along with several others that were broken into.

"Some of them even had the keys in them. And one vehicle had a firearm in it," said Troiano.

Investigators not only hope the video will help solve these cases, but show as a reminder to residents.

"We can't say it loud enough.  Lock your vehicles. Lock it or lose it. It's a crime of opportunity, so let's take that opportunity away from them," he said.

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office said it has recovered all the stolen vehicles except the 2013 Green Ford Taurus, tag number HQA1P.
