Suspect injured after Orlando barber shop shootout

ORLANDO, Fla. – An ex-barber shop employee confronted his former boss Saturday with gunfire, Orange County deputies said.

The suspect, a 32-year-old Hispanic man, arrived armed to the One Cut barber shop where he used to work near Colonial Drive and Dean Road, looking for his former boss. For some reason, deputies said, the man could not use his gun and ran to the back of the shop. Employees locked the back door and heard gun shots. As employees ran to the front door to secure it, the suspect ran to the front and started shooting. An armed employee shot back, hitting the suspect several times

The gunman then ran onto East Colonial Drive where he was hit by a car and dropped his gun, according to OCSO. The suspect has serious injuries and is undergoing surgery at the hospital, Orange County Sheriff's Department Capt. Nieves said.

No one inside the barber shop was injured. Only a car in the parking lot sustained a gunshot.

The suspect is facing possibly attempted murder charges and multiple charges of aggravated battery.
