Florida Highway Patrol trooper witnesses hit-and-run crash

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man was arrested in Orlando early Monday on DUI charges after, according to troopers, he struck a woman's car and drove away.

Fabian Sanchez, 21, of Orlando, was arrested in the hit-and-run crash, which happened on Lake Underhill near State Road 408.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a trooper witnessed the crash and called for help after the driver fled the scene.

The victim, who was not seriously injured, said she was tempted to go after the driver.

"I wanted to because I saw him leaving," she said.  "I was in shock.  I didn't know what to do."

The man was arrested after failing a field sobriety test, according to officials.  He faces charges of DUI and hit-and-run with property damage.
