Suspicious package cleared in downtown Orlando

Caller tells authorities suitcase was left at Magnolia Avenue, Amelia Street

ORLANDO, Fla. - A suspicious package was cleared in downtown Orlando on Thursday after officials determined that it was only a suitcase containing clothes.

Orlando police and Orlando fire officials said a caller found a suitcase leaning up against a light pole at Magnolia Avenue and Amelia Street.

Video from Local 6 News helicopter Sky 6 showed the bomb squad investigating the suitcase, according to Orlando fire officials.

Authorities determined that the suitcase only contained clothing and other items and was not a hazard.
