Suspicious package investigated at future Planned Parenthood site, police say

Kissimmee police investigate after duffel bag found in lot

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – Bomb squad crews are investigating on Thursday a suspicious package report at the location of a future Planned Parenthood, according to police.

Kissimmee police said they responded to the area of 610 Oak Commons Boulevard for a report of a suspicious package at a site at around 10 a.m.

When police arrived, they discovered a blue duffel bag that was located in front of a lot that is the location of a future Planned Parenthood, officials said.

Police said they found an unknown substance inside the bag, along with other items. They believe the bag was placed intentionally, but won't say what the other items in the bag were. Police will test the substance to find out what it is.

Police said there was a break-in at the location on Wednesday and as officials were taking a report on it Thursday morning, the package was pointed out.

Police shut down Oak Street between North Central and North Rose Avenues as the investigation continued.

The new Planned Parenthood location is across the street from Osceola Regional Medical Center.
