MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. – A teenager was arrested after a drive-by shooting Saturday on Merritt Island left one person injured, Brevard County deputies said.
News 6 partner Florida Today reported that witnesses told deputies someone had been shot on Lincoln Avenue. The witnesses said the suspect, Joshua Joseph Rodriguez, 18, of Rockledge, fled in a maroon Nissan SUV, the Sheriff's Office said.

Authorities found Rodriguez driving a vehicle that matched the description witnesses provided and conducted a traffic stop, during which they found a handgun, deputies said.
Deputies said they were told the shooting was in retaliation for a shooting that had previously taken place in Cocoa.
Rodriguez was arrested and charged with attempted murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle, deputies said. He is being held in the Brevard County Jail without bail.
Deputies said the male victim was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No other details about his condition were immediately available.
