SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -

Police arrested a 19-year-old Monday in connection with the shooting death of a 20-year-old man early Sunday morning.

Witnesses told police Austin Jones was showing a handgun to two friends Sunday around 2:09 a.m., believing it to be unloaded, when he cocked it and pulled the trigger, striking Christopher Negron in the head, just above the eye.

Police said Jones immediately tried to render aid to Negron, while another friend called 911.

Negron died as a result of the gunshot wound.

Jones is currently being held at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility, charged with manslaughter.
