Teen in fatal Winter Park beating pleads not guilty in separate case

Simeon Hall, 16, charged as adult

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An Orange County teen charged in a 2016 deadly beating in Winter Park entered a not guilty plea during an arraignment Tuesday morning in a separate case.

Simeon Hall, 16, was arrested and charged as an adult earlier this month after police say he attacked someone at Ward Park.

Investigators say at the time of the attack, Hall was on home detention for a manslaughter charge stemming from the beating death of 15-year-old Roger Trindade. Police say Hall and another boy got into a fight with Trindade and left him unconscious.

Hall is charged with felony battery and tampering with an electronic monitoring device in the most recent case.

During Tuesday's brief court appearance, Hall's lawyer entered a not guilty plea on both charges. A judge set his next court date for Dec. 13 at 8:30 a.m.
