Teen critically injured after crashing car into Brevard County home

Demarius Clayton airlifted to hospital

MIMS, Fla. – A 17-year-old Titusville boy was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition after he drove a stolen car into a home, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Demarius Clayton was injured in the crash, which occurred around 10:45 p.m. Monday at a home on Main Street near near Myrtle Avenue in Mims, the FHP said.

According to troopers, Clayton, who does not have a license, was driving a 2006 four-door Hyundai, which had been reported stolen, and lost control of the vehicle.

The car crashed into the home and Clayton had to be extricated from the vehicle, troopers said.  He was then airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center.

No one inside the home was hurt.

An investigation is ongoing and charges are pending against Clayton.
