Teen passenger killed when car strikes pole, FHP says

Teen driver seriously injured

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 17-year-old girl was killed in a crash at Rock Springs Road and Tanglewood Drive Sunday afternoon in Orange County.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Erik Morales Lebron, 18, was driving an SUV south on Rock Springs Road when for an unknown reason he lost control of the vehicle and struck a pole.

Troopers said Lebron was seriously injured and was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, while his passenger, Delisha Monge Pena, died from her injuries.

Troopers said the crash is under investigation.
