Teens charged in string of car burglaries

$1,628 worth of property stolen

PALM COAST, Fla. – Two Palm Coast teens were charged with a string of car burglaries amounting in more than $1,628 of stolen property.

Flagler County Sheriff's deputies said two girl, ages 16 and 17, broke into at least seven vehicles.

The burglaries occurred between February 19th - 25th on Russell Drive, Rose Drive, Ruth Drive, Rose Petal Drive, and Round Tree Drive.

Deputies have recovered GPS units, iPods, watches, and CDs. A total of about $1,550 worth of the stolen property was recovered.

Deputies said the teens admitted to looking for unlocked vehicles to burglarize and also said they looked for money at least once.

The teens are charged with 6 counts of burglary of a vehicle and 2 counts of grand theft, among other charges.

Both teens were taken to the juvenile detention center in Daytona Beach.
