Testimony continues in Cady Way murder trial

Hector Rodriguez accused of killing Winter Park High School teens

ORLANDO, Fla. – More emotional testimony is expected on Friday in the trial of the man accused of killing two Winter Park teens along the Cady Way Trail.

Hector Rodriguez, 32, one of two men charged in the April 2012 slayings of 16-year-old Nicholas Presha and 18-year-old Jeremy Stewart, rejected a plea deal last week that would have given him 30 years in prison.

On Friday, Rodriguez watched in court as Isabel Vinaes, the girlfriend of previous witness Jonathon Tischer said she heard Rodriguez say they were going to rob the teens. Vinas said she had never seen Rodriguez before but was certain of what she heard.

The defense said Rodriguez did participate in the robbery but they say that's where it ended for him.

Presha's father took the stand on Thursday to tell the jury about the last time he saw his son alive. Bernie Presha also talked about how he discovered his son was gone the night Nicholas was killed.

"I called him down for breakfast and he didn't answer so I went up to his bedroom he was not there," Bernie Presha told the juror.

Tischer, an inmate and friend of Rodriguez and Davis, also told jurors on Thursday that the duo robbed Presha and Stewart of guns they were trying to sell. He also said that Rodriguez told him Davis shot the teens and burned their bodies.
