About 10:30 a.m., Bartlett slammed into the back of a Honda Civic that was stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Cheney Highway and Sisson Road, police said a preliminary investigation showed. He had been heading west in a Ford Explorer.
Bartlett kept driving, continuing west on Cheney Highway for about one mile before he crashed into a Honda CRZ, which subsequently forced that vehicle into a Toyota Prius near Barna Avenue, officers said.
None of the four drivers involved had any passengers in their vehicles.
The driver of the Honda Civic was hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver of the Honda CRZ was treated at a hospital, too, but his or her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Bartlett is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail on $17,500 bond.
