Titusville police catch suspected vehicle burglars in act

2 men arrested in separate incidents

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – Two men were arrested early Wednesday morning in separate incidents when they were caught burglarizing vehicles, according to the Titusville Police Department. 

Police received a call around 12:30 a.m. about a suspicious person looking into vehicles. Eric Eason Ricks, 19, was found near Court Street and Cortez Avenue with items that were stolen from a White Ford Ranger truck, a news release said. 

Ricks was taken into custody about 30 minutes after the 911 call was made on charges of burglary of a vehicle and theft, violation of probation and criminal mischief.

A few hours later, around 3 a.m., police received a similar 911 call about a suspicious person. Robert Wesley Curry, 33, was found in the 4000 block of Mount Sterling Avenue sitting in a vehicle he was attempting to burglarize, the news release said.

Curry ran when he saw police, according to authorities. He was arrested after a short foot pursuit, authorities said. He was charged with burglary of a vehicle, criminal mischief and resisting a law enforcement officer without violence.
