ORLANDO, FLa. – Wet roads in Central Florida caused traffic problems Wednesday shutting down parts of Interstate 4 and backing up traffic for miles as drivers head to work or their Thanksgiving destinations.

In the first crash, a seven-car pileup caused I-4 westbound at Fairbanks Avenue to shut down, snarling traffic for hours. Hours later, a crash occurred at the same location.
The next crash happened at 7 a.m., when a 47-year-old Geneva man was killed on I-4 eastbound near State Road 436 when he lost control of his pickup truck and crashed into a pole.
At 7:30 a.m., three crash crashed in the eastbound lanes of I-4 at Sand Lake Road, shutting down the Interstate again.
Even with all the I-4 traffic, AAA projections say some 43.4 million Americans are predicted to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday, a 1.5 percent decrease from the 44 million people who traveled last year.
