ORLANDO, Fla. – The new Transformers 3-D ride officially opened on Thursday at Universal Studios.
The highly anticipated ride, based on the popular Transformers films, straps riders wearing 3-D glasses into flight simulation cars as they go through a larger-than-life battle between the Autobots and Decepticons.
The ride itself was built at the park in one year, making it the fastest built attraction in Universal history, according to a release.
The three films upon which the ride is based have grossed more than $2 billion worldwide, and a fourth film is scheduled to be released in June 2014.
