A judge has further delayed the trial date for an Orange County teen accused of running down and injuring an Orlando police officer during a traffic stop last year.
Attorneys for the state and defense both said more time is needed to prepare for trial at a status hearing Monday.
"I do not know if the victim in the case will be prepared to come to court in the next 60 days," said Assistant State Attorney Linda Drane Burdick.
Police said Officer William Anderson recently underwent spinal surgery for complications he suffered from the July 13 incident.
Anderson suffered a traumatic brain injury when he pulled over a car while investigating a call about shots fired on Kirkman Road.
Investigators said Anderson went around the front of the car, when a passenger in that vehicle started running.
Police said the driver, Edward Kelty, who was 17 at the time, sped up and hit Anderson.
Kelty, along with Angel Nieves and another teen were arrested.
On Monday, Kelty's attorney also asked for at least another two months to prepare for trial.
Circuit Judge Julie O'Kane scheduled another status hearing in the case for May 26.
O'Kane said a trial date may be set at that time for late summer.
