Trial date set for Downtown Orlando shooting suspect
Jason Rodriguez charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder
The trial date has been set for Jason Rodriguez, the man accused of open-firing in downtown Orlando in 2009.
Judge Belvin Perry set a tentative trial date of November 4 for Rodriguez's first-degree murder trial after Rodriguez was found competent to stand trial on Wednesday.
Rodriguez is accused of killing one man and injuring five others at the Gateway Center in 2009. Police say they believe Rodriguez was trying to get revenge for losing his job.
He is charged with one count of first-degree murder. He also faces attempted first degree murder charges.
