ORLANDO, Fla. -

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are charging the girlfriend of the driver they say was  involved in the hit-and-run that killed two women in Pine Hills last week.

Troopers issued an arrest warrant on vehicular homicide charges and leaving the scene of a crash involving death charges on Monday for Brye Jenkins, 23, after they say he ran a red light through an intersection on Balboa Drive June 1, crashing into another car.

On Tuesday, Jenkins' girlfriend, Shane Joseph, was taken into custody after she told troopers she wanted to come clean about what had happened in the crash. At the time, she said she didn't know the driver who ran off after crashing their car into another vehicle, killing the driver of the other vehicle, 53-year-old Veronica Williams.

Williams' passenger, her neighbor, 78-year-old Bessie Anderson, was transported to a hospital and died.

Joseph will be charged with lying to troopers. Jenkins has not been located, troopers said.
