Troopers say 1 dead after two cars overturn on I-4

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A 29-year-old man is dead after his car collides with another car on Interstate 4 eastbound near mile marker 131 in Volusia County.

The Florida Highway Patrol said that the man's car was traveling at a high rate of speed when he attempted a lane change with another vehicle, they collided causing both to overturn.

The man was thrown from his 2014 Mercury 4-door car through its sunroof and he died at the scene, troopers said. 

His name has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.

His passenger, Abdallah Bin Ishaq, 31, of Daytona Beach, was transported to the hospital along with the two occupants of the other car, trooper said.

The other vehicle, a 2001 Chevy SUV was driven by Delzie Kimbel, 42, of Apopka with passenger, Robert Crosby, 29, of Plymouth.

The accident remains under investigation.
