Tropical moisture moves in by end of workweek

Rain chances ramp up in Orlando area

ORLANDO, Fla. – Rain chances remain low in Central Florida on Tuesday and Wednesday, but that changes by the end of the workweek.

"Increasing low level moisture leads to more clouds on Tuesday," Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.  "Dry air in the mid- and upper levels of the atmosphere will keep rain chances at 20 percent Tuesday and Wednesday."

Tropical moisture increases by the end of the week, however, because of an area of low pressure south of Cuba.  Computer models show the tropical wave tracking into the western Gulf before nearing Mexico.

Moisture from the low pressure will increase the chance of rain in Central Florida to 50 percent on Thursday and Friday.

Rain chances across the Orlando area decrease to 30 percent for the weekend.

High temperatures will be in the upper 80s into Thursday.  Friday will be a touch cooler at 86 degrees.
